I bought the dress a sort time before my wedding so wasn't able to alter. There is an internal corset that allows for customized fit. I am a little taller then 5'3, I wore just under 5 inch heels and was perfect. The dress is in pristine condition. It is fitted but was surprisingly comfortable. I have hips and a larger bust and initially thought fit wouldn't be flattering but was very happy with it. The pictures don't do it justice; the detail of the lace is so beautiful and the train of the dress is a delicate touch.
